New Bedford Rowing Center Announces Election of New Board Chair and Opens Learn To Row Registration

New Bedford, April 16, 2024 | New Bedford Rowing Center (NBRC) announces the election of Jordan Seim to a three-year term as Chair of its Board of Directors.  Having served on the board for 2 years, Ms. Seim has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to advancing NBRC’s mission.

“The opportunity to lead the New Bedford Rowing Center as Board Chair is both a tremendous honor and responsibility,” shared Jordan Seim. “As someone who has always found solace and strength on the water, I am committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity and growth within NBRC, ensuring that rowing remains a transformative experience for all involved.”

Seim’s significant contributions to revamping the Rowing Center include welcoming new rowers during Learn To Row sessions. These Saturday and Sunday morning courses will get anyone on the water in four weeks. Space is available in April, June, July or August, and features coaching from Seim and other USRowing-certified coaches.

Registration is now open for Learn To Row courses, taking place on Saturdays & Sundays 8:30-10:00 am.

As Board Chair, Ms. Seim will oversee the strategic direction of the New Bedford Rowing Center and will work closely with fellow board members and local rowers to enhance programming, promote inclusivity, and foster a supportive environment for all ages and skill levels.

Ms. Seim has also played a key role in New Bedford’s imminent development of a new rowing facility on the upper reaches of the Acushnet River, where calm flat waters await the installation of a 1,500-meter race course.

Ms. Seim brings years of leadership experience in event planning, business operations and project management to her new position, plus a passion for rowing and community engagement.  Currently, an Events Manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, she possesses nearly a decade of progressive experience in event logistics, client relations, project management, and sales.
